Like most of us already assumed, abz3293.com finally admitted today that the site is in no way related to JJ Abram’s Cloverfield movie. A few clever guys decided to register the domain name after abz3293 first appeared as the license plate number of the black SUV in the Cloverfield trailer. They claim to have setup the site to aggregate all of the Cloverfield information through fan comments, but we all really know they are just capitalizing on the buzz and racking up backlinks so they can eventually turn it into a porn site (kidding). abz3293 says,
We wanted to apologize to everyone. We had a quarter of a million visitors in the past few weeks with threads hitting nearly 600 comments. We also wanted to extend a special apology to h4×3d , The poor kid had no idea, actually going back though some e-mails we found one that sounded like he was convinced the movie studio used his template. However to his credit, most of the quarter of a million visitors that visited the site believed it was part of Paramount as well.
Props to these guys for being the first unofficial Cloverfield site to admit being phony.

Cloverfan, who is reporting live from the set of Cloverfield to the Unfiction forums says,
Ok just overheard that we will be getting the title very soon as in the next few days or a couple of weeks tops.
We should also be getting a new trailer with a few new cast members which, and this is just an assumption, will be basically the footage they are filming tonite in NYC.
Gonna be some major explosions soon as well but I have been cleared off the street and I am gonna have to take some roof shots later.
Interesting!

Apparently Cloverfield is being filmed right this minute in New York’s Lower East Side on Orchard Street. So, if you live in NYC and know someone who does, I highly suggest you get your ass to Orchard Street and snap some pictures. I also recommend that you kidnap an actor or two and hold them ransom in exchange for the movie title. Just a thought …
Check out the Unfiction forums for pictures, videos and discussion.
Also, here is some video footage of the set. Dudes getting paid to beat the shit out some cars. Nice!

The documentary Arctic Tale, which follows young polar bears and walruses in the arctic as they adapt and attempt to survive in an ever changing landscape is to be released nationwide. The movie seems like a variation of that one penguin flick narrated by Morgan Freeman, March of the Penguins, which racked in $127 million.
Anyways, the movie had a limited release last week and it seems pretty interesting. South Coast Daily writes,
“Arctic Tale,” 15 years in the making, which follows the comings of age of Seela, a walrus pup, and Nanu, a polar bear cub, as global warming threatens to melt the ice from under them. A depressing subtext, for sure. But the movie, co-directed by Sarah Robertson and Adam Ravetch and featuring off-screen commentary from Queen Latifah, out-fuzzes “Penguins” with its paw-licking bears and mustache-twitching walruses.
Sadly, there is also a video game planned for this movie. Wack!
